Port 3000 doesn't work after upgrade to Wamp 3 (no replies)

Hi there,

I recetnly updated from Wamp 2.5 to Wamp 3.1.3 following the update instructions. Everything has gone fine and all my sites and databases work exactly the same as before. However, when using gulp watch with browser-sync (which uses port 3000 to proxy localhost) the page does not load and after a while I get ERR_EMPTY RESPONSE from chrome or any browser.

So [localhost] loads fine, but http:localhost/sitename:3000 does not

I've tried all sorts of suggestions from people on SO forums. E.g. Commenting out ::localhost in my hosts file (doesn't work, everytime wamp is restarted it gets re-added to the hosts file).

Tried adding inbound rule exception for port 3000 in Windows firewall.

Tried disabling firewall completely

Tried NPM cache clearing, ipconfig /release DNS etc

Tried removing the Global and Local NPM browser-sync packages.

Tried reinstalling Node

Tried reinstalling the Visual C Runtime libs and Distributables and ran check VC (all fine but still doesn't work)

I'm not sure where else to search on this.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

Many thanks in advance

WAMP 3.1.3 (36 bit)
PHP 7.0.3
Apache 2.4.9
Node 6.10.1
