Cannon connect database with Wordpress (1 reply)

Hi,

I've got stuck "installing" WP based on a new database. I've followed instructions as shown in this tutorial [www.youtube.com]. I also had changed apache port 80 to 8080 to prevent some error before following youtube tutorial shown above.

So for now, I am able to access phpmyadmin or localhost via a web browser. I simple put down:
localhost:8080 and press enter (as a result I am able to acess to WAMP localhost) or put down localhost:8080/phpmyadmin/ (as a result I am able to acess to phpMyAmin panel). I had already created a database and configured wp-config.php according to official wordpress tutorial. So when I try to write a "URL"such as localhost/wordpress as shown in a youtube tutorial above, I get no resuts, the page of web browser simply do not uploads. If I try this: localhost:8080/wordpress as a result I got this "Error establishing a database connection". So what I am trying to understand, is that in order to "install" wordpress in my local drive I should use different port (the port of Mysql database) or what?. I have no idea what I'am doing at the moment. Could anyone help me to deal with this problem?! Thank you. :s
