Version 3.2.6 is the last version where I could do a default installation and use my previous web page files as well as my database files. After that it seems there are either different collation and server connection character sets, or they are handled differently. No matter how I try to match everything after an update, I just cannot seems to get Swedish characters displayed on my web pages.
I need to know to COMPLETE character set path, from columns, tables, database, server connection all the way to the web page encoding and PHP / HTML script setting for these newest versions of WAMP. At the moment I am using Apache 2.4.51, mySQL 5.7.36 and PHP 7.4.26. I would like to upgrade so I can start using the latest PHP 8 versions. Yes, I know I can do this even in this version of WAMP, but I would like to upgrade everything while I am at it, so to speak -jquery API e.g is not longer viable in modern browsers and everything based on that has to be changed.
If anyone has practical experience of this, I would appreciate some help.
