Folks,
Good morning, how are you?
Using WAMP SERVER and configuring virtual hosts normally.

I would like to know if it is necessary to configure MySQL or MariaDB, so that every time you create virtual hosts in the SQL files, they are in the same virtualhost directory.

"Save" on php.ini file won't stick (4 replies)

Can someone please address this question for me?

I have a WAMP 4.9.7 local install.
I opened the php.ini file in the apache2.4.33/bin folder and changed the max_upload_filesize setting so I could upload files that exceed the 2M default.

Every time I do this, save the file, Exit WAMP, and restart WAMP, that setting I saved reverts back to the default. The other php.ini files in the wamp/php folder don’t do this.

After I save the file and restart WAMP, wordpress tells me that the upload limit is still 2M and won't let me upload a 6M file.

I have never seen this in the past with other local installs I've done in WAMP. This is chimpanzee stuff: You just change the upload_max_filesize setting, save the file, and you can upload files to the limit you set. Simple.

Why is the php.ini file reverting back to the default after I save it?

Any help here is greatly appreciated.

I am using WAMPSERVER 3.1.0. I followed this tutorial to create an ssl certificate and use https on my site. I purchased a Godaddy certificate and it works with [localhost] but does not work with [mydomain.com]. It's like it cannot find it, however [mydomain.com] does work.

Any help would be apprecaited!

This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary
or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built,
or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.

To report this bug, see [mariadb.com]

We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help
diagnose the problem, but since we have already crashed,
something is definitely wrong and this may fail.

It is possible that mysqld could use up to
key_buffer_size + (read_buffer_size + sort_buffer_size)*max_threads = 70631 K bytes of memory
Hope that's ok; if not, decrease some variables in the equation.

I installed WAMP on my desktop and am using it to build a WordPress site before I launch it. Everything is working fine there.

I also want to work on the site on my laptop. All the files of the WordPress site are in my OneDrive folder and are automatically synced between the two computers.

What do I need to do to set up WAMP on my laptop to be able to work on my site? More specifically, what do I need to do in WAMP or in phpmyadmin on my laptop to link the virtual host to the database files in OneDrive?

How do I change the default browser for WAMPServer (1 reply)

I am running Windows 10 Pro 64bit, WampServer Version 3.1.3 64bit, Apache 4.4.3. PHP 5.6.35, MySQL 5.7.21. I am not using MariDB.

WampServer icon is green.

I am somewhat new to WAMP and WordPress and set up WampServer on my PC being careful to follow all the prerequisites concerning the different VC++ redistributables, etc. WampServer runs beautifully. I successfully set up localhost and created some virtual hosts to start working with and learning WordPress before going to my hosted site.

When I set up WampServer, I accepted the default browser (IE). This has proven to be a poor decision as I am having issues with the WordPress theme and related tools. The source of the issue appears to be IE and this means I need to change the default browser to Chrome or Firefox.

I found some information doing an search on the internet but nothing here. I believe the information I found is incomplete. What I found told me to make this change in wampmanager.conf and provided the location. I made the change without breaking WampServer but WordPress doesn't open so I changed it back.

Is there another file I have to edit as well?

I apologize if the answer is already on the forum but I tried every search option I could think of and didn't get any information.

PHP / Apache connection to SQL Server with windows authentication under different workgroup/domain (1 reply)

Hi,

I am using WAMP Server 3 with SQL Server 2016.

My App Severs are trying to connect to SQL Server and they are working fine with SQL Server Local Authentication.

But the issue is when I am trying to connect to SQL Server via Windows Authentication, I am unable to connect.

What I am doing is I am nit giving any UID / PWD for windows authentication. Now my machines are under different workgroup / different domain.

Is it possible to achieve windows autthetication with this Infra or should I move to local authetication.

I have just installed (as admin) WampServer 3.1.3 64 bit
Apache 2.4.33 - PHP 5.6.35
MySQL 5.7.21
MariaDB 10.2.14
PHP 5.6.35 for CLI (Command-Line Interface
On my Win10 machine. I7, 16GB, plenty of disk space

Not running Skype, disabled IIS in Windows Features
Made every check/modification presented in the 'Tips' FAQ (at least I tried - I assume I did them correctly)

Green Icon - no Apache or PHP log errors
phpMyAdmin starts fine - no error messages, root@localhost

No apparent blocking in the Windows Firewall

But NO web page served when Localhost menu item clicked (or for that matter, entered into browser directly)

At one point a couple of days ago, it worked, but when I came back to it, it no longer worked. I have completely (I believe) uninstalled and re-installed several times.

Help. Please.

Hi,

sorry for disturbing you, I'm a beginner and willing to learn more, currently I am developing a PHP web-based form to assist in my work and it will be connected to MySQL DB, and this system will be used by multiple users from my company, so I wanted to know, do I have to install the WampServer on my company's server? if yes, do we have any alternative solution? like if we can install it on the users' PCs?
